1997 Mercedes-Benz R129 SL320 Auto

For sale at Bruce Greetham Classic Benz is this unique R129 SL320 with just 9444 miles on the clock. Although this SL320 was first registered to the supplying dealer, Brunswick of Croydon, in 1997, it never left the showroom.

The current owner purchased the SL from Brunswick’s and still owns to this day.

Due to a busy life and working overseas, the current owner has given the SL a very sheltered life in his garage away from direct sunlight.

It has however been serviced and regularly exercised throughout his ownership, with dealer stamps displaying activity. The interior smells as fresh as the day it was collected - with bright crisp decals and stiff and precise operation of the switches and wiper stalk. The steering wheel shows no signs of use, neither do the fluffy carpets. The lustre is deep on the wood console.

The engine bay still displays factory markings, with decals in all the right places Even so, a full service and fresh MOT will be provided for the new owner. Test driving confirms that everything works as it should, without hesitation, including the electric soft top which still displays its original MB logos on each window and crisp black stitching. Heated and electric seats worked perfectly as do all other controls. The alloy wheels have the correct diamond-cut leading edge: They are spotless and unmarked, and matched with Pirelli Tyres all round. The spare wheel has never been removed from the boot cavity: It still shows the year build of 1997, jack, first aid kit, and triangle as new.

This is a Concours Edition - a collector’s model suited to the R129 owner who wants purity at its best. This SL320 is an untouched, ultra-low mileage, something increasingly difficult to find.
