Here at Bruce Greetham Classic Benz, we are delighted to be able to offer for sale a very desirable W111 220 SEB Coupe. This is a very early car from July 1961 in Right Hand drive and complemented with a 4 speed Manual gearbox. This impressive Coupe has recently invested in £28'000 on a bare metal repaint to a very high standard which has been painted in its original colour from factory code 516 Medium Red.
The paint shines like a new pin from top to bottom with perfect panel gaps to match around each panel, quite rare on a big coupe which is 63 years old. A matching number car from engine, body and colour which is nice to see and displays its honesty.
The bright work complements the car beautifully with only a few small pit marks to the rear lower chromes, side mouldings, window chromes all very nice. The interior looks to be wearing its original leather to front and back, some colonisation has been taken out as some point, a small tear to the driver's front seat pad but not offensive in anyway.
The interior roof lining still displays originality with no tears or sagging which these models do suffer with, a manual sunroof adds character when all manual windows are dropped for that pillarless driving experience. The carpets are correct with no tears, stains, or wear in any way front and rear. The Boot compartment is showing its original floor pans and sound deadening and painted in the correct black finish.
The instruments all worked on test, and It still wears it original period radio nicely into the wooden dashboard. All the wood around the upper dash and A pillars are in beautiful condition with no signs of cracking or peeling.
The mechanicals are as they should with starting on the button from hot and cold, the engine maintains temperature and sits at idle correctly. Fluids are clean and level with no obvious leaks at the point of test. The Rear Axle underwent an upgrade for a longer gear for cruising to ease those touring miles which helps fuel economy and a more relaxed drive.
The Documentation shows all recent works from the current owner and various old receipts from earlier work carried out. Spare keys, Log book all present.
The owner now has decided to sell to move onto something new and let the next custodian take over the reins for the next chapter of its miles.
Overall, this stunning 111 Coupe would make an excellent entry into this period of Coupe from the very early 1960's. These coupes are elegant, sophisticated gentleman's cruisers that look the part outside any Mayfair Hotel or down the Marina at Monaco.
The registration plate will not be included in the price for sale with the vehicle but can be purchased together as a combined price.
220 SEB number plate separate sale £17,000. Combined sale of vehicle and number plate is £77,000
I look forward to discussing this beautiful Coupe in more detail.
